By taper bearings i assume you mean old school cups and cones there is no real torque on these because all the bearings are different and what may suit one vehicle wont suit another the way i would do it is tighten the bearings so the lock up this seats them then back them off till the wheel turns easily if your concerned.

I have established that the 28mm nut requires torque 343nm to 378nm., the 33mm nut requires 390nm to 428nm., but I can't find a definative answer for the 50mm nut which I have fitted to my 244X motorhome.
